Deep BLUE SEA

^_^ Been reading lots & lots & lotsa Blogie's tweets & fb about the SEA.
AND "just so happened" that ASEANBLOGGERS are all living in the SEA (South Eeat Asia).
SO "just a thought" to write something ...about the SEA... what many may have already known... yet...
...not knowning where the SEA is ??? ^^ sound strange...? hahaha - gotcha - lets get CLEVER and lets talk about bizzzzzzzzz nest (BUSINESS) ...

Blue SEA(Market/ Product)
Red SEA (Market/ Product)
1
Not Yet in Existence / Explored

Existing
2
Demand is created

Boundaries - defined/ accepted
3
Competition irrelevant

Competitive
4
Rules of Game to be set

Rules of Games are known
5
Wider, deeper potential of market space

Potential of Market Space - Restricted/ Set
6
Ample opportunity for growth

Products become commodities or niche,
7
Profitable and rapid

Cutthroat competition turns the ocean bloody

Seen the above before ???
What has that got to do with me, you may be thinking. hmmmm, let's see.
Whatever you may be working on right now, does the points below applicable/ helpful to you?

Builds on the concept of
·      VALUE INNOVATION
·      Being able to INCREASE VALUE while
·      REDUCING COSTS at the same time

Will it makes sense if relate the above concept with the below?

You CAN achieve this when you grasp the above concept
Ø  BECOMING ENVIRONMENTAL – FRIENDLY, can actually
Ø  LOWER the production COSTS by,
Ø reducing the INPUTS used.
Ø  BY NOT TAKING the STRUCTURE of the operating environment AS a given,
Ø  a company may generate ADDITIONAL REVENUES from
Ø  BETTER products and
Ø  CREATE NEW BUSINESSES, by
Ø  TAKING a RECONSTRUCTIONIST approach to strategy

THE END - HEAL THE WORLD, make it a BETTER place, for you & for me & the entire human race ^^

BORNEO - Sematan Palm Beach Resort 世外桃源

Sematan Palm Beach Resort 世外桃源

Sematan is a small fishing village town in Sarawak facing the South China Sea.

Just a short distance from the Sarawak-Kalimantan (Indonesia) border.
For a taste of local culture, make a visit to the Selakau Longhouse nearby or perhaps take a look at the oldest Chinese wooden shop in Sematan that dated back to about 150 years old. Inquire the resort staff for more information on the village and its people here.

Nature lovers can hike at the nearby Gunung Gading National Park. If you're lucky, you'll be able to see the world's largest flower, Rafflesia, bloom in its glory. Alternatively, hop on a boat to Tanjung Datu National Park to discover the untouched flora and fauna of the Sarawak rainforest.

There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied during your stay at the resort. Other than simply swim and sunbathe by the beach, be a little adventurous when you're there.
Don't miss the jelly- fish factory. However, the factory only welcomes visitors during jellyfish season in the months of April and May. This is when one can witness how freshly caught jellyfish are processed for the market.

^_^ IOU - not sure who's been reading BUT... accountability is a virtue, regardless

About My Company - the Pride of Borneo 2011 - 1st Ever Convention Centre to envelope event up to 5000 people comfortably.

My "pick up" Line  ^^

Hello ! Greetings from Borneo!
My name is Abigail Law and I would like to introduce you, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching,
located by a marina overlooking historic rainforest, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) is the first international purpose-built convention centre on the island of Borneo.

BCCK has a rainforest themed architecture, and a major feature of the centre's design when viewed from the outside is its roof structure. The roof is shaped in the form of a 'ririg' leaf, a rainforest plant that plays an important role in the local indigenous cultures. With environmental preservation in mind, rain water will automatically be channelled down the central vein of the leaf on the rooftop and collected for irrigation in the centre's gardens and grounds.

how to "GET" followers ... (on my blog?)

^_^
Well... many ways to do it. Personally I would like to believe there is no "wrong" way to do so. BUT, there is always this invisible "unspoken" rules. To make it complicated since it is "muted & therefore blinded", then stepping on people's toes is just something that must take place. Prophecy just doesn't fit right in here cos it is like a booby trap, IF u know what i mean... ^_* wink wink .

Same applies in Facebook. Rubbing shoulder's is now "made alive" in Facebook with all the invisible "unspoken" rules. You CAN propose a rule & you are ALLOWED to propose. Democratic huh ? ^_* wink wink. The word Spam is so familiar yet so alien that people may find it hard to grasp as to where/ how to draw the line BEFORE someone REPORT you for spamming follows by Punishment without conviction/ trial. (u r Guilty until the blocking lifted ^_* hahahah -lol- )

i am blessed & i know i am. i can say that all of my more than 3000 facebook frens are really "frens" frens. i have come to believe that because we are connected for over 2 yrs. We rubbed shoulders, we cry & laugh together & at each other, etc - yet, we are still in each other's facebook.

So last night, eagerly i wanted followers in my blog. So i did it "conventional" way. Posting the link & "invite" frens to follow. One fren inboxed me & sounded annoyed at the same time, explained to me he doesn't like what i did "to" him. Posting my link on his status that is.

We had a pep talk & ended with a line of wisdom from him - he said -
Abigail, if what you are doing is right, it will attract attention all on its own.

i went like, WOW !!! - a great awakening... that is SOOOOOO true... just a simple line, YET that's the principal of nature ... (even though what i wanted is followers, not attention, but yeah... i do believe if what i m doing is right, it will attract the alike...to follow... why not ? ^_* wink wink)

Asean Blogger 234 Consensus in the making 24 April 2011

^_^
twas an easy consent i would describe, from almost all in the room ^^

25 April 2011, Sunday,  Conference has concluded in presence of both the former and the current PM with the Declaration, called KL Consensus:

1. The establishment of the Asean Social Media and Blogging network to promote understanding, good relations, unity and cooperation for regional betterment and progress of social media practitioners in the spirit of mutual respect.

2. To assist achieving and promoting the common values and aspirations of goodwill and to promote greater understanding through social media.

3. To promote the freedom of expression, freedom of information and freedom from persecution in Southeast Asian nations.

4. To promote ethical practices in social media by constantly encouraging engagement.

5. To meet regularly and promote the growth and progress of social media in Asean.

thanks Sopheap for sharing - who has not read her article, find yr own way there ya ^^

^_*

Recap quote Sopheap Chak, 28 Apr 2011:
About 34 bloggers from 8 ASEAN countries namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, gathered in the “1st Malaysian ASEAN Regional Bloggers Conference – Blogging Mindfully and Responsibly,” hosted by the Blog House Malaysia, a registered association that was formed by a group of bloggers.

2 blogs caught my interest simply because it is similar to my subject of research for Sarawak, my homeland. Namely Temasik Review,  and The Online Citizen. - social political blogs in Singapore. The expression in their writing is somehow similar to the stand up comedy. Where a story will be told through the blending with much sarcasm & humour yet reflecting the real issues of the local social politic. ...AND i like that idea ^^

Thanks to Sopheap for the statistic that i have found interesting & good to share, especially when you need something that sounds intelligent to talk about during a social conversation ^_* wink wink :-

Indonesian blogosphere
stimated 4,8 million blogs and
ranks the 6th largest on Twitter worldwide
and the 2nd largest concerning Facebook users behind the US.

The Philippines,
22 million Filipino Facebook users,
ranks 7th in the world.

Malaysia
10 million Facebook users and
millions of blogs

anyone wishes to contribute to more stats ? please by all means ^^

Testing the posting - ^_^

25 April, 2011, i arrived Kuching Airport at approximately 4:00pm. My close friend Liya picked me up from the airport. As i entered her car, my mind was "very occupied" randomly by my "collection of snap shots" i have gathered in my memory bank through out my trip to KL since 22nd April (Friday), - That's the day i took off from Kuching Airport on MH xxx, together with the other Kuching delegates heading for the 1st ASEAN Blogger Conference.

Liya & i reached my house around 4:30pm. i unlocked the gate & left the lock "unlocked" which is "very unusual" cos locking it behind me is supposed to be my habit. ^_^. Following that OF COURSE i opened the main door & locked it right after i entered my house & this is very "usual". ^_^ .

i dropped off my luggage, sorted out few things from my hand bag & went out again. i shut & locked the main door behind me rushing out to get some errants done. i wanted to avoid the after office hours traffic. As i turned to my gate, i was alerted by the "unlocked" lock. Immediately i realized i left my main door key in the house. Thank God i have my car key in my hand & thank God my sister has safe kept a spare key to my house. ^_^  (rocket science says go figure what happen after that ^^)

anyway - i am not able just yet to get the snap shots i have collected from the Conference in my mind to settle down. i can't get them out of my mind either. & that's the reason why i created this blog, hoping that my mind would somehow slowly paving its way to the "album" in this blog & place the snap shots at places where it feels comfortable. Not fading from the memory but, collections of snap shots to be documented, one day - i hope that it will still be around - somewhere... ^^

i am not sure if the rest of the ASEAN team or any of them feel the way i do, the way i am feeling about the whole event & towards everyone that i met throughout the event, both participants & organizers. For every second that has passed, the memories from the event is turning into a very significant part of "re-shaping" my past & then altering "some" courses in my life. How much is "some" i don't know, but some.  ^_^  and it is a good "some", for sure ^^
